My obsession with dynamic compression
On October 12, 2014 I participated in my very first marathon. During my training , a very good friend introduced me to the idea of dynamic compression as a modality of recovery for after long run training. I was overwhelmed at how light and refreshed my legs were after using them. The only downfall was that I had to drive far to use them. I really couldn't afford the extra time to commute to and from Chicago after a 2 + hour run and allow adequate time to use the compression unit. So, I decided to purchase my own dynamic compression boots, hip girdle and arm sleeves. I used them (and still do) before and after my run and cross training workouts. I LOVE them so much I wanted to share them with all of the athletes in my community so I created AKDiV Fitness Recovery.
Kristy Dietz, Owner of AKDiV Fitness Recovery
I love that Kristy, of AKDiV Fitness Recovery, is an endurance athlete. Her passion, training and training set backs bring a first hand authentic experience. She can speak not only to the technology but also the reasons behind why endurance athletes utilize resources like dynamic compression for pre and post benefits. In the few years I've been incorporating compression in my training, I've experienced noticeable benefits in my recovery and race performance! I'm excited to see what the future holds for AKDiV!
Back squats, lunges, thrusters, cleans...no problem! AKDiV has me covered from top to bottom (literally). A quick 20-30 minute session after tough workout takes away muscle fatigue and soreness.
After running 26.2 hilly miles in The Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati, Ohio, my legs were so unbelievably sore that I was waddling like a penguin. I used Akdiv Fitness Recovery boots with Kristy and fell asleep while the boots did their magic. It was so relaxing and the perfect post race "therapy" that I recommend them to all athletes.
